Beef Sukuma
sticky beef wet fry + fries + coleslaw π₯©ππ₯¬π₯
All ingredients (serves 2-3)
1. For Sticky Beef Wet Fry:
– 500g π₯© beef, steak or sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes – mbuzi or chicken thighs work too
– 2 tbsp π§ oil
– 1 π§
large onion, sliced into thin strips – for topping
– 3 π§ garlic cloves, minced + 1 tbsp π« ginger, minced
– For the sticky sauce:
– 3 tbsp π₯« soy sauce
– 2 tbsp π― honey or brown sugar
– 2 tbsp π
tomato sauce/ketchup
– 1 tbsp π
tomato paste
– 1 tbsp π dark vinegar or balsamic
– 1 tsp πΆ chili sauce/sriracha, optional
– Β½ tsp β«οΈ black pepper + 1 tsp πΆ paprika
– ΒΌ cup π§ water or beef stock
– πΏ Dhania/parsley, chopped for garnish
– 1 π lime, sliced for serving
2. For Chips/Fries:
– 4 π₯ large potatoes, peeled + cut into thick chips
– π§ Oil for deep frying
– π§ Salt + πΏ paprika, to season
3. For Creamy Coleslaw:
– 2 cups π₯¬ cabbage, finely shredded
– Β½ π₯ carrot, julienned – the orange strands
– 3 tbsp π₯ mayonnaise
– 1 tsp π lime juice o
